Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) has announced that they will launch the newest program of their broadband services entitled “Fiber To The Home”(FTTH) program this year.
According to the telecommunication company, FTTH program will deliver a high-speed data tranfer to homes, establishments, and buildings. By the usage of fiber optics technology, it transmits the data via light signals send through thin strands of pure glass and is faster than the regular DSL cable.
With this new network platform technology, it will be able to deliver simultaneous voice messaging and video streaming without hesitation. PLDT conducted an initial tests on FTTH program and found out that the said platform technology has a capacity of 94.86 Mbps and uploading rate of 69.39 Mbps. This higher speed of new network platform technology would take 1-5 seconds to download 5 Mb mp3 file and 1-3 minutes to download an 800Mb full movie. This new program illustrate the PLDT’s commitment to offer its customers intense communication technology.
